The house, a rather muscular cottage, contains a somewhat unusual mix of references in it’s original details and quite a few gems. As pieces of furniture, art, and objects from the previous home found their way to the new spaces, careful consideration was paid to the selection of additional pieces that populate the rooms. Each piece has a story, a provenance, or a personal connection and was considered in relation to the space as well as the conversation between the elements. What was original and existing has been largely unchanged, save for a light or two that moved to a new room and a door that was incorporated in another spot. The kitchen was completely reinvisioned from the previous 70’s and 90’s interventions to relate to the material quality and age of the house. With certainty, a project that will continue to evolve, but one that continues to surprise and delight.
